Lights, Camera, And your direction!

We have dedicated a section of our website to hosting a series of video interviews conducted with “real” industry HR and recruiting professionals.   Our video content is organized around several areas of interest, including: resume writing, interview skills, social networking and job searching to name but a few.

Our interviewees are some of the very same people who are reviewing your resumes and job applications and then determining whether to put you on their short list of candidates to pursue.

As you know, it is generally challenging (easily equated to breaking into Fort Knox) to engage these professionals for your own personal agenda.  In their defense, they are busy and can’t dedicate the time to meeting or speaking to every potential candidate that has interest in employment.  In fact, many of these recruiters work for employers where they are mandated to fill hundreds if not thousands of openings.

We have created this interview series in an effort to get your questions answered and to develop more insight into what these recruiters are looking for when they read your resume or meet you in person.  Our goal is to better prepare you and give you that extra edge!

Over the next several weeks we plan on expanding our video library with a host of new interviews.  As such we want to ensure that the questions we ask are truly the questions you would ask.  So, in our continued effort to add meaningful content to PennEnergyJOBS and to develop a community where industry professionals like yourself want to hang out, we are turning to you for direction.

I want to hear from you - Tell me what you would ask an energy industry recruiter if you had the chance!

Comment back on this posting with the questions you want answers to and I’ll work them into our lineup.
