Taking My Own Advice

I have provided, what I hope, is some good advice to job seekers over the last year and a half.  I am extremely passionate about everything HR, but most importantly, people.  I know how important good talent is, and I believe that anyone taking an interest in his or her own performance can develop themselves in to the top talent of their company. 

As I have written my blogs I realized that I too should take some of my own advice along the way.   I have seized my own new opportunity, and sadly this will be my last blog for PennEnergyJobs. 

If there is one piece of advice I can leave you with, it is to create your own destiny.  Do not give in to a boss or a company.  Life is too short to not take the bull by the horns and make the absolute most out of your career.  Focus on what kind of talent you want to be and then take the steps to get there.

I have many transferable skills in the areas of coordinating/planning and development/evaluation and assessment/ recruiting/ facilitating as well as the obvious- training and instruction. I’d be a profitable candidate for an HR position. How do I go about getting my foot in the door vs. just applying and hoping for the best?

    Its quite disturbing, many of the job seekers in some regions are deprived i noticed.

    While in many parts of the world there are abundance to explore. Engineering jobs in the asia region is not really expanding. Expectations of engineers have become more acedemic rather than performance based.

    For really top performers in some organisations in this Asian regional society, the HR aspect is very much influenced by the local culture, many aspects of performance in Asian organisations is based on initial acedemic qualifications.
